In January, Skafish gives a lengthy radio interview
discussing his history on Chicago’s “Z-95” station.
Polygram Records’ Billy Cox, a Skafish fan, directs
Skafish to discussions with the legendary Smash Records, now a Polygram
affiliate. Smash Records, which had
been reborn in Chicago, considers signing Skafish to a deal after hearing the
new Skafish dance track “Animal,” but ultimately passes on the project.
Throughout the year, Skafish continues to work the solo
show around the Chicago area, often playing 3-4 long sets per night plus
encores. He is still receiving
local press, but is unable to ink a new record deal.
